FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
BY SOUTHFORK LIFETIME WARRANTY CUSTOMERS

Here at Southfork Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, we want you to have complete confidence in your new vehicle purchase. With this in mind, our team takes great pride in our team's Warranty for Life Program. Interested in learning more? Then we invite you to read on below...

If my car breaks down, how do I make a claim?

If your vehicle breaks down, we encourage you to contact the dealer where you purchased your vehicle. Their team will be more than happy to walk you through the claims process. Of course, if you have any questions that you would like to have answered beforehand, you are more than welcome to speak with a claims specialist by calling 800-810-8458.

When are claims specialists available to answer my call?

If you would like to speak with a claims specialist, we encourage you to call them between Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EDT and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Will I be responsible for paying a deductible when making a claim?

Not at all! Not only is the Warranty for Life program deductible free, but you can also expect all parts and labor to be covered 100%.

Do I have to keep up on my vehicle's maintenance schedule to take advantage of this program?

Yes, you do. Keeping up on your vehicle's Manufacturer's Recommended Maintenance Schedule is required if you plan on taking advantage of this lifetime warranty. To learn more about your vehicle's particular maintenance needs, we encourage you to refer to your owner's manual.

What if I've misplaced or no longer have my vehicle's owner's manual?

Not to worry! This is common among our customers. Fortunately, you can find your vehicle's maintenance schedule either on the manufacturer's website. You may also call a claims specialist to learn more, or use the Edmunds Recommended Maintenance schedule as an alternative resource.

What if I need maintenance services performed while I'm out of town?

To learn more about having maintenance services out of town and how you can pre-authorize maintenance, we invite you to give us a call at 800-810-8458. To learn more, you may also reach out to the team in our Service Center.

If I am out of town and my car breaks down, is it covered by the Southfork Lifetime Warranty agreement?

This lifetime warranty pays for all covered repairs, regardless of where you are in the country. If you do happen to be more than 150 miles from the dealership where you bought your vehicle, you may bring your vehicle to a licensed repair facility, or call 800-810-8458 for assistance. Please keep in mind that all repairs must be pre-authorized or the repairs performed will not be covered.

If my car breaks down and it's covered by the Southfork Lifetime Warranty agreement, am I required to pay for the repair and then wait to be reimbursed?

All repairs must be paid for by credit card immediately after the repairs have been completed. Please be sure that all repairs are authorized prior to the repair being completed as unauthorized repairs will not be covered.

How can I be certain that a Pre-Authorization for services has been granted?

At the end of your Pre-Authorization call with one of our claims specialists, you will receive a unique Pre-Authorization code which we suggest keeping on file.

What if my car needs to be towed or I need a rental car while my car is being repaired?

Unfortunately, towing and rental car coverage is not provided by your Southfork Lifetime Warranty agreement. However, if you purchased an extended service contract, it may provide coverage for you. It is also possible that you may have such coverage through your vehicle insurer, AAA, or another 3rd party.

What if my vehicle has an oil change light/indicator reminder system?

Maintenance will need to be performed when your indicator signals you to do so, but it cannot exceed a routine oil change frequency of every six months or 7,500 miles, whichever comes first. If your manufacturer requires the use of synthetic or synthetic blend oil, please refer to your Southfork Lifetime Warranty agreement. For complete details regarding all required maintenance, see your Southfork Lifetime Warranty agreement or contact a Claims Specialist at 1-800-810-8458.

What is a licensed repair facility?

A licensed repair facility is any repair facility that has a license to do business, and can provide a detailed repair order that contains all of the pertinent information about the services performed.

Am I required to use an ASE certified facility?

No, however, we do strongly recommend it. ASE technicians are certified through a national non-profit organization that is able to ensure the technicians competency in a variety of areas. Drivers should look for facilities that display the ASE Blue Seal of Excellence logo.

How do I know if an ASE certified technician will be working on my vehicle?

One of the advantages in taking your vehicle to a licensed repair facility is that if an ASE certified technician does not work on your vehicle, they are still available to assist and oversee the work that is being performed.

Why do I need to pre-authorize each scheduled maintenance when not returning to my selling dealer for service?

We require you to call prior to your maintenance, so that we can assist you in your dealer's absence. This warranty has been provided to you at no cost and your only responsibility is to maintain your vehicle at the selling dealership, according to the manufacturer's maintenance guidelines. If you are unable to return to your selling dealer, we do require you to pre-authorize each time you go elsewhere.

Am I able to change my own oil?

Unfortunately, no. All services are required to be performed at a licensed service facility. Not only does doing so ensure proper documentation, but it also ensures the workmanship of all the services performed on your vehicle.

Why do I have to follow Manufacturer guidelines when it comes to service?

Proper maintenance is the best preventative measure in avoiding future breakdowns. Keep in mind then, that the Manufacturer of your vehicle understands their mechanical components best, and that is why we ask that you use their guidelines.

Why is my dealership suggesting more maintenance services?

Manufacturers only require a minimum level of services. Your driving conditions will often times demand additional service work be performed to keep your vehicle in top notch condition. You are only required to perform the minimum services outlined in your owner's manual but we encourage you to follow your dealership's recommendations.
