If you're shopping for a full-size truck to commute around Sugar Land in and/or take on tough jobs, the Ram 1500 and Ford F-150 are probably on your radar. Both models are segment leaders, but there are several ways the Ram 1500 stands above the Ford F-150.
Performance
Engine Options: shopping for a Ram 1500 engine is straightforward, as you'll have three options. The F-150 has six engines. Variety is nice, but when you have so many choices, the shopping process gets to be a bit dizzying. Also, certain engines will be harder to track down.
Towing: The 3.6L V6 can tow up to 7,730 pounds, the 5.7L HEMI® V8 up to 11,610 pounds, and with the V8 that has eTorque technology you can tow up to 12,750 pounds. That's a lot of power for your Pearland tasks! The Ford F-150's towing maxes out 13,200 pounds - more than the Ram 1500 - but base engine only tows up to 5,000 pounds. When testing out base trims that were aimed at serious workers, journalist noted how sluggish the Ford F-150 was in comparison to the Ram 1500.

Technology
If you're looking for a comfortable truck to commute into Houston in, then it's important that your full-size has a wide range of tech options to keep you satisfied. Even on the base Ram 1500 you'll still find a touchscreen, and on higher trims you can get a screen that goes up to 12-inches! That's more than most luxury SUV offerings. The base Ford F-150 doesn't have a touchscreen, and the largest one is 8-inches.
You can also get active noise cancellation on the Ram 1500. It helps keep the cabin quiet, allowing you to tune out road sounds and better enjoy your ride. You won't find that on the Ford F-150, and that's especially a let down if you do a lot of loud highway driving.
Comfort
The F-150 has some handsome interiors and even available two-tone seats. But when it comes to style, the Ram 1500 is the clear winner. You'll get more leather in your cabin, higher quality materials, more chrome on the outside, and the overall design is more upscale. If you want to showoff around Friendswood, the Ram 1500 is your best bet.
